Victorian Goofballs

One of the interesting moments just after photography became accessible to the average consumer in the 1800s is the period when people didn’t smile in pictures. “Smiling for the camera” literally was not invented yet. Possibly trying to spice up all the boring pictures, our Victorian ancestors got goofy in front of the camera proving that they were not quite as serious and boring as we thought.
